How does ITS Bar Skills offer accredited training to its students?
In Australia, the vocational education and training (VET) Quality Framework aims to achieve national consistency in the way that registered training organisations (RTOs) are registered and are adhering to the Standards.

As one of Queensland’s preferred Hospitality Training providers, ITS proudly upholds our training delivery to this framework. To ensure all Queenslanders are receiving quality training, the national regulator for the VET sector, the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), undertakes audits of all RTOs to ensure we are in compliance with these Standards pertaining to the quality of training. ITS undergoes their third party audits in accordance to these Standards to remain registered.

If you would like more information on audit processes, please visit ASQA’s website.

Can I get Recognition of Prior Learning?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows individuals to be issued units of competency from a nationally recognised qualification by demonstrating skills, understanding and experience in a particular field of work.

Currently there are no prerequisite units required to undertake the following units offered by ITS Bar Skills:

  • SITHFAB201 Provide responsible service of alcohol;
  • SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety;
  • SITHFAB202 Operate a bar; SITHGAM201 Provide responsible gambling services.

These are standalone units and therefore no RPL is applicable. However, if the learner has already completed the unit SITHFAB201 “Provide responsible service of alcohol” and has a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate recognised in Queensland, you can choose to either do the 2 day course with the Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG), or select the 1 day practical Bar Skills only option. Simply select the 1 day course option above to secure your place.
